Nonresident Brookings Scholar on Environment and Development, Foreign Policy
Nigel Purvis’ research focuses on how U.S. foreign policy can protect the earth’s climate and promote sustainable development of its natural resources. He was a vice president of The Nature Conservancy and deputy assistant secretary of state for Oceans, Environment and Science. Purvis is currently the President of Climate Advisers and a visiting scholar at Resources for the Future.
