Gwenn Okruhlik specializes in the politics of the Middle East, with a focus on the Arabian Peninsula. The recipient of two Fulbright Awards to Saudi Arabia, she has conducted extensive research in the country, analyzing the intersection of political economy and social movements. Her work appears in Comparative Politics, The Middle East Journal, Middle East Policy and The Middle East Report. She is also co-editor of Political Change in the Arab Gulf States: Stuck in Transition (Lynne Rienner, 2011).
