Douglas Elmendorf was a Brookings senior fellow from 2007 to 2009. From 2008-2009, he also served as director of the Hamilton Project at Brookings. In January 2009, Elmendorf left Brookings when he was appointed director of the Congressional Budget Office, a position he held until 2015. Following his time at CBO, Elmendorf was a visiting fellow with Brookings until he became Dean of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in January 2016.
