Nancy-Ann DeParle

Nancy-Ann DeParle is a Guest Scholar in Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution and a Lecturer in Law at Harvard Law School. From 2011-January 2013, she was Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy in the Obama White House, where she oversaw policy development in many areas, including health, education, energy, environment, housing, and transportation. A health policy expert, DeParle served as Counselor to the President and Director of the White House Office of Health Reform before becoming Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy. She spearheaded President Obama’s successful effort to enact the Affordable Care Act and managed the initial implementation of the landmark law.
