Hady Amr is the founding director of the Brookings Doha Center. His research focuses on three core issues: the new political dynamics underway in the Middle East, human development in the Arab World, and U.S. public diplomacy. He has held posts at the Department of Defense, World Economic Forum, World Bank, UNICEF and the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies. He is the author of several articles and analysis papers including "The Opportunity of the Obama Era: Can Civil Society Help Bridge Divides between the United States and a Diverse Muslim World?."
