Brookings Executive Education was recently selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a partner to launch its new executive leadership program.

The NIH Executive Leadership Program
(NIH ExLP) is intended to hone the ability of individuals to serve in the top executive positions within each Institute. The NIH ExLP is the senior-level component of the Institutes’s overall leader-development strategy. This intensive program will include leadership assessments; individual coaching; action learning projects; and educational seminars.

Each year a cohort of approximately twenty high performing leaders will be identified to pursue program elements as a cohort over a period of six months. Content aligns with the NIH Executive Proficiencies model, providing a basis upon which to gauge individual growth. The program integrates the world-class academic experience of Brookings Executive Education with the hands-on involvement of senior NIH executives to provide an extraordinary learning experience. Working with current NIH leaders and academic experts--as well as with executive coaches--participants will tackle real-world organizational challenges, enabling them to produce extraordinary results for NIH, the scientific community, and the nation.

Through BEE's expanded capacity with the Olin Business School, we can now integrate executive coaching; leadership assessments; action learning; project development; and coaching into classroom components of any agency’s executive development efforts.
