The Scouting Report: Jobs and the Economy

Event Summary

While recovery in the American job market remains slow in the wake of the Great Recession, there are some encouraging signs suggesting that better times are ahead. Brookings Senior Fellow Gary Burtless follows the monthly employment reports and explains the trends to watch behind the numbers. The Senate passed the House version of a nearly $18 billion bill for new jobs and unemployment aid, moving the legislation to President Obama for signature.
