Event Summary

An internationally-recognized advocate of human rights, peace and justice, the admired spokesman for the people of Tibet, and the 1989 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, the 14th Dalai Lama is one of the world's foremost defenders of non-violent methods to achieve social change.

On October 18, 2007, Brookings, the Asia Society, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies presented His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a conversation with Richard Holbrooke, Strobe Talbott and Richard Armitage. Andrea Koppel provided welcome and introductory remarks.
