Brookings Senior Fellow William A. Galston considers the intersection of politics and religion in the shaping of U.S. public policy in this discussion. Galston, a unique and indispensable voice on policy matters, has spent the past 25 years in the study and practice of politics. He also served as deputy assistant for domestic policy for President Clinton.

In a collection of political essays, Public Matters: Politics, Policy, and Religion in the 21st Century (Rowman & Littlefield, 2005), Galston considers the intersection of moral and political principles in public policy issues ranging from human embryo research to the Iraq war to tax cuts for struggling families. Brookings Senior Fellow E.J. Dionne moderates the discussion, which includes Michael Tomasky, editor of The American Prospect, and Michael Barone, senior writer for U.S. News & World Report and co-author of The Almanac of American Politics.
