  • International Conference on Mathematics: Analyses of IEA Studies in Mathematics: In November 2006,  The Brown Center hosted IEA's International Research Conference. Scholars, educators, and policymakers from around the world convened to present research using international testing data. The objective was to produce new knowledge on topics in curriculum, instruction, and policy.

     

  • Algebraic Reasoning: Developmental, Cognitive and Disciplinary Foundations for Instruction: In September 2005, The Brown Center joined the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Institute of Education Sciences, and the National Science Foundation in convening panels of experts to shed some light on the learning of algebra.

     

  • Closing the Gap: Promising Strategies for Reducing the Achievement Gap: In February 2001, The Brown Center hosted a conference on reducing the achievement gaps between students of different races and ethnicities.
