Gary Burtless: Job Gap Between 7 and 7.5 Million People

The job deficit is between 7 and 7.5 million people, Senior Fellow Gary Burtless said today on Fox Business News. That's the number of extra employed people we need so that the employment rate in every age group of the U.S. population is the same as it was at the end of the last expansion in 2007.

Burtless has detailed analysis and data on the gap, the causes and the remedies in a recent piece, "How Far Are We From Full Employment?"
