Arms Control Initiative

Through the Arms Control Series, Brookings scholars and other policy experts explore a range of critical arms control and nonproliferation issues facing the United States and the international community. These issues include U.S.-Russia nuclear arms reductions; actions to discourage the proliferation of nuclear weapons; and the requirements of nuclear deterrence in the 21st century, among others. In these papers, experts address questions at the top of senior policymakers' inboxes in Washington and other world capitals, with a goal to promote understanding of the context and complexities of the issue, and to advance practical policy solutions.
