Brookings Executive Education
Program Series
Executive Summit
Executive Summit is a one-of-a-kind learning experience designed exclusively for senior government executives (SES) to develop strategies to preserve and extend government’s capacity to serve the public. It features decision-makers, leading economists, and management experts all providing guidance and insight into managing cutbacks and strategies for leading in lean times. Together with government peers, you can begin formulating plans to implement fiscal discipline while continuing to provide necessary public goods and services.
Now in its third year, our acclaimed Executive Summit for senior executives now is reformatted to meet the time constraints of busy executives. It will be delivered in three components that provide opportunities to establish deeper connections with peers across government and to solve real world problems over the course of three months.
The program begins on Friday, September 14, 2012 with a one-day session at Brookings. Content will focus on the fiscal climate and the imperative for lean management. The second component takes place October 29-31, 2012 in a retreat setting just 90 minutes from the Capital Beltway in St.Michaels, Md. We reconvene on Friday, December 6-7, 2012 at Brookings for a final session to report on implementation efforts and focus on transitional leadership, building trust with new appointees, and leading at the crossroads of change.
