Building Networks and Partnerships

While networks are recognized as critical to solving the many "wicked" problems facing government today, how do you create relationships and partnerships across organizations to tackle these problems? How do you lead across a network of organizations to access needed resources and create practical and impactful solutions?

In this essential class for the 21st-century leader, you will learn how to build networks and lead across the enterprise. You will learn enterprise leadership methods for finding, framing, and formulating cross-boundary challenges, and emerge with a greater understanding of how to create enterprise-wide solutions that provide great value for the public.

Brookings Executive Education convened a symposium featuring Jackson Nickerson and Ron Sanders, the co-editors of the Brookings Press book Tackling Wicked Government Problems: A Practical Guide for Developing Enterprise Leaders. The compilation of essays offers several approaches for translating social network theory into practical approaches for building and employing collaborative networks. Ron Sanders is the instructor for Building Networks and Partnerships.
