Brookings Executive Education offers 360-degree and 180-degree leadership assessment tools for participants to learn how others currently perceive their behaviors. Master candidates are urged to take the 360-degree survey upon acceptance to the program to construct a study plan (i.e. sequence of courses) and use as a support platform for continued funding. The180-degree assessment can be completed later in the program to demonstrate growth and development.
These Individual Development Pathway leadership assessments are based on the Executive Core Qualifications, so participants can gauge their readiness for the SES or their proficiency as incumbent members of the SES.
Each student will receive a complimentary feedback session with an executive coach and can opt to include additional coaching at a nominal cost.
Certificate of Public Leadership
While pursuing the MS-Leadership students can earn the Certificate of Public Leadership (CPL). Upon completion of 20-classroom days including one of the week-long residential leadership classes and Ethics in Action, MS-Leadership candidates will be awarded the CPL. Earning this credential while in pursuit of a degree offers individuals and their sponsoring agencies a demonstrable return on investment before degree requirements are completed.
A complimentary writing coach assesses each paper to guide you in creating clear, concise, and organized arguments.
Each year MS-Leadership students will be invited to attend a forum—a master class—at which they will engage in exclusive off-the-record conversations with exemplary public leaders. These annual events will highlight some of the best practices in government and facilitate the development of personal and professional bonds among managers and executives from across government. Orientation for recently admitted MS-Leadership candidates will be scheduled in conjunction with the annual forum.
