BASIC FUNCTION
Provide project management support for programs within the Engelberg Center on Healthcare Reform (ECHCR) focused on convening stakeholders to address critical issues related to regulatory science, comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered outcomes research, drug and medical device safety, US health policy, patient engagement, and biomedical innovation. Provide project coordination, strategic planning, research, administrative, and other needed support to senior Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform (ECHCR) staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is desirable. Candidate should have four years of experience with varied responsibilities in a fast paced work environment and experience in private sector project management, public policy, federal government and economic research a plus.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Microsoft Office experience (Word, Access, Power Point, Excel) is required. Candidate must have superior organizational skills and demonstrated self-initiative and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Prior experience managing project activities required. Knowledge about regulatory science, patient-centered outcomes research, patient engagement, and/or biomedical innovation desired.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
50% Project Management
- Support senior management in strategic planning around new priorities, including developing and evaluating new initiatives and partnerships.
- Interact and coordinate communications with a broad range of external stakeholder groups and organizations, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and other research and/or policy organizations.
- Support senior staff in managing, executing, and evaluating project implementation; including working with senior research staff to align on core deliverables, create and monitor workplans, and manage and coordinate project execution and implementation.
- Track and manage all project milestones, deliverables, and timelines and regularly update project history.
- Communicate with project sponsors to coordinate activities and manage ongoing project deliverables.
- Assist senior staff in proposal and contract development as needed.
30% Event Planning
- Work with Events Manager and senior research staff in designing and implementing substantive meeting objectives and agendas.
- Serve as a liaison with Event Manager and core staff.
- Assists in event execution and preparation, including participant correspondence.
20% Research and Writing
- Contribute to and support research staff in drafting research papers and policy briefs, including conducting literature searches and review and synthesis as necessary.
- Provide editorial review for project materials and documents.
