Digital Communications Internship

The Office of Communications offers several internships throughout the year to individuals with experience in communications, journalism, web strategy, or a related field. These internships offer the challenge of assisting in the day-to-day activities of a busy communications office.

The Office of Communications is seeking a Digital Communications intern to assist in several types of work:

Email communications. The Brookings team sends out over 20 different email newsletters, and intern responsibilities would include writing copy, editing, formatting emails, as well as calendaring, strategic planning and general coordination.

Social Media. Brookings has multiple Twitter feeds, and a presence on Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin and Google+. Intern responsibilities would involve working with the social media manager to help maintain and monitor these channels, and create performance reports.

Events. Brookings has events almost every day, and Digital Communications interns may need to help with various pieces of the event process: building web-forms, coordination RSVP lists, managing the check-in process, etc.

Undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook are required, and familiarity with HTML is preferred. Please note that this internship is unpaid.

TO APPLY

Please send a cover letter, resume (with approximate number of hours per week available to work and approximate start and end dates) to Melissa Amidon . Please discuss your qualifications and specifically why you are interested in the internship and highlight the skills mentioned above.
