Web Publishing Internship

The Office of Communications offers several internships throughout the year to individuals with experience in mass communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. These internships offer the challenge of assisting in the day-to-day activities of a busy communications office.

The Office of Communications is seeking an intern for the fall to assist in various aspects of web content publishing. Intern responsibilities would include: photo cropping, evaluating content from a search engine optimization perspective, writing highlights for longer-form pieces of content, identifying related content and optimizing pages for user experience, monitoring and updating topic/geography pages, and other duties as specified by the managing editor of the web site.

Undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent college graduates majoring in communications, public relations, journalism, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Good writing and organizational skills, and some basic proficiency in HTML, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office tools are preferred.

Please note that this internship is unpaid. Hours are negotiable.
