Social Media Internship
The Office of Communications offers several internships throughout the year to individuals with experience in mass communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. These internships offer the challenge of assisting in the day-to-day activities of a busy communications office.
The Office of Communications is seeking an intern to work with our online strategy team to assist in social media. Intern responsibilities would include:
- producing reports based on social media analytics and performance metrics
- social media monitoring
- helping manage branded YouTube channel and Pinterest account
- conducting social media research and drafting social communications plans around events, reports and other online content
- occasionally covering main social media feeds including Twitter, Facebook, and Google+
The ideal intern candidate has experience using Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and YouTube in a personal and professional capacity, and be familiar with the terminology and types of engagement for each network. Experience with social measurement tools, search engine optimization, social advertising, Google Analytics, or Omniture Site Catalyst are a plus.
Undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. We want you to leave the internship with skills critical to success in online communications. Please note that this internship is unpaid. Hours are negotiable, but you should be available at least 15 hours a week and through mid-to-late August.
