Education/Experience Requirements
Applicants should hold a PhD in economics, social science, or related areas, with 1-2 years of post-doctoral work experience preferred. Successful applicants will have extensive experience working and studying in Africa, with intimate understanding of both domestic and international economics and politics in African countries. Fellows will be expected to work on policy-relevant monographs, books, and/or policy papers, as well as interact with other Brookings scholars, the wider policy community, and both African and non-African media.
Interested candidates should submit the following by December 15, 2008:
• One page application (see attachment)
• A curriculum vitae
• A short (500 word) research proposal
• Two letters of recommendation (letters should be mailed/emailed directly from references)
• Copies of two to three significant publications and/or working papers
